FIX IT BEFORE IT BREAKS! Focus on Prevention!
Biblical Marriage Institute (BMI) was birthed out of a desire to see biblical marriage upheld and restored as the standard for all marriages.
Properly trained in the knowledge and understanding of what a biblical marriage looks like, godly men and women assist other couples to develop the values, attitudes and skills necessary to experience marital success.
Because most marriages begin in the church, BMI works closely with local churches, Christian schools, and like-minded individuals, by providing prevention-oriented marriage education, training, and community awareness.
BMI assists marriages and families in three key areas:
Studies show that couples in their first fifteen years of marriage are most susceptible to divorce. Unfortunately, by the time most couples seek help, they are at the point of despair and hopelessness.
BMI trains married couples to mentor younger couples in how to live out their marriage vows on a day-to-day basis.
Listen to what one mentee couple had to say about their experience: “A lot of couples our age pray for mentors… So when it was handed to us, it was a gift! It has even blessed our children. They got to see us sitting at the table with an older couple studying the Word.”
One mentor couple put it this way: “I only wish we would have known about this information before we married. The layout of information covered … was very well done and stimulated much conversation after each class.”
MARRIAGE EDUCATION
BMI teaches teens and college students the fundamentals and benefits of marriage.
BMI’s work with inner-city teens is particularly exciting! By God’s grace, these students will enter adulthood better prepared for the most important human relationship in their lives – marriage! Listen to what the principal of Restoration Academy had to say about this unique partnership:
“The Jones’s passion for marriage and their desire to teach on marriage from a biblical perspective were especially useful for our students. Over 70% of our kids come from broken homes, and most of them have never seen a godly marriage. To many of them, marriage is an antiquated relic. It was good for them to see a godly couple that were deeply in love with Christ and with each other. They were refreshing and inspiring to our students… I believe that their skilled instruction, their passion for Jesus, and their love for young people are a tremendous asset to any school or ministry.”
COMMUNITY AWARENESS
Researchers have determined that family breakdown costs Americans over $112 billion a year. That’s one trillion dollars over the last ten years!
BMI believes that the institution of marriage is the foundation of society. When marriage is upheld and honored, our communities, cities, states, and nation benefits.
